Korea Studies Promotion Service Holds Presentation on Excellent Performance of 2016
Korea Studies Promotion Service (KSPS) held a presentation on its excellent performance in the year 2016 at Seoul Koreana Hotel Diamond Hall at 3 in the afternoon on Dec. 14. The presentation was attended by about 90 persons including officials from the Academy of Korean Studies, the Ministry of Education and researchers who conducted projects for promoting Korean studies.
The presentation was organized to share excellent results of research projects for promoting Korean studies, to create researching conditions to derive high-quality research products through accepting opinions of researchers and to encourage in-depth research on Korean studies.
The presentation had two parts. During the first part about East Asian regions around South Korea, China and Japan, Prof. Kim Mi-gyeong of Hiroshima City University made a presentation based on the theme 'memory and reconciliation' and Prof. Roald Maliangkay of Australian National University made a presentation based on r the theme 'growth of K-pop,' an interesting phenomenon appearing in the world. During the second part, Prof. Yoon Yeo-tak of Seoul National University and Prof. Oh Sang-hak of Jeju National University and Prof. Shin An-sik of the Catholic University of Korea made presentations. Yoon compiled a dictionary of technical terms of Korean studies by theme, Oh organized the existing fragmentary Korean geographical history in a comprehensive and stereoscopic way and Shin pursued the expansion of research methodology using results of archeological excavation.
The event provided a place to introduce excellent research products, to announce various episodes taking place in the process of executing research and to generate questions and answers about presentations.
